It Takes A Village

Over four years ago now, a group of individuals came together and began a grassroots movement to ‘grow’ and revitalize our local farmers market here in Clear Lake. I would venture to say that this movement has been a huge success, however not solely to the credit of that original group. As the old saying goes, “it takes a village” and that it has. The Clear Lake Farmers Market would not be what it is today without the support of our entire community and our loyal, generous sponsors. Over the last several years, businesses and members of this great community have stepped up and helped to enhance the market experience.

If you’re looking to get involved the Clear Lake Farmers Market has lots of volunteer opportunities over the summer. So far, Central Gardens of North Iowa, the Clear Lake Public Library, IRIS Exchange Students, Simply Nourished and a few others have volunteered to organize/sponsor a children’s activity or snacks at our CLFM booth but we have lots of weekends available. We also are doing some special events on the second Saturday of every month and can always use an extra set of hands. If you or your organization would like to get involved at market send us a message through Facebook or send us an email at clfarmersmarket@gmail.com. The more the merrier!

The Clear Lake Farmers Market also offers several tiers of sponsorship opportunity so really anyone within the community can contribute (individuals and businesses). Our sponsors have contributed to market equipment (trailer, tables, benches, etc.), live music, children’s activities and supplies, marketing materials, special events like cooking demos and youth vending booths and so much more. A very special thank you to our current 2018 sponsors: Kingland Systems, CDI Custom Painting and Design, Hall Realty, CL Tel and the Mulford Family. If you would like to know more about becoming a sponsor of the Clear Lake Farmers Market or for volunteer opportunities, please contact the CLFM Market Manager Emily Margeson at clfarmersmarket@gmail.com.

Looking forward to another great season… Thank You All!
